What is “Wow What?”

Wow What Studio was officially established in 2022 by designers and makers Anna Schwinn and Alan Jones.

After years of designing and creating for others across many dimensions, brands, and industries, we needed a platform from which we could play and practice the breadth and depth of our assembled skills to the benefit and delight of our friends. 

Furthermore, we needed a vehicle with which we could collaborate and partner with others to spectacular effect. 

Thus Wow What Studio was established. 

We are here to 

• combine and compound our skills in order to make excellent products and experiences for you, our friends
• experiment with new mediums and materials and push our practice to weird new places
• meet new friends and bring them along with our antics
• engage collaborators and clients who want to partner to become better than the sum of our parts

We are all about

• simple things designed and made really well
• quality materials and goods
• making things by hand
• small batches and experiments

We make nearly everything you see here with our hands and brains at our ever-expanding Wow What Studio Workshop in Minneapolis, MN.  

What we do not make ourselves, we make with our special partners producing top notch goods in the US.

WHY “Wow What?” 

The name Wow What comes from a common (and desired!) reaction to some of our favorite projects. Recipients would describe opening a special package from our workshop and saying “WOW… What?”
